Day 3 Hong Kong

Today was my last day in Hong Kong, and coincidentally, my last day of my trip. I slept in a little this morning to give me a little bit extra time to not be tired tonight, having to board my flight quite late at night. I did not end up doing a lot today, just a little shopping and one stop with some photos.

So I first headed into the shopping center named Harbour City, I found in here quite a good bookstore named, PageOne. This is probably on par with some of the bookstores like borders at home, but I found that the range that they have here seems to be better or more diverse or something, but It just seems better. However this didn’t mean that they had the books that I wanted. While they have a lot of books in English, and quite a few interesting looking ones not the one that I wanted.

After here I walked to a park not far away named Kowloon Park. I have to say this is probably the equivalent of Brisbane’s Botanical Gardens. But it is actually a lot more diverse (at least from my memory of the gardens in Brisbane) It has many different areas of the gardens, and even includes a number of wildlife habits for both birds and fish, I even saw a little turtle (or is it Tortoise, not sure),  in one of the ponds. So here are some of the pictures as I am sure you would much prefer to see it then read about it.

This pond could be a reflection pond it is so still. However later on they turned on a fountain in the middle of it.

Another feature in Kowloon Park is a Bird enclosure and they do have a few different and interesting birds in this enclosure, one of them being the Rhinoceros Hornbill.

There are two other things that you will find a number of in Kowloon Park. That is sculptures, there is a walkway which has about a 15 along the path on each side. However there is also quite a few more around the place as well. The other thing is waterfalls, ponds and fountains.

From the park it was back to the shops to get the last bits of shopping I wanted, which I had not wanted to carry around all day. Late in the afternoon I found my way out the back of the shops, near where the Cruise ships dock, and caught a late afternoon picture of the sun through the haze.

Also in the shopping center I found another rock sculpture which was quite interesting.

Finally it was time to head towards the airport, for the final leg of the journey home to Brisbane. The flight was rather uneventful and was the end of the fantastic journey that I have shared with you over the past 39 days. Hope to do it all again soon, so please keep a look out for more about my travels to come.
